Who Am I?

I’m a homeschooling mother of three great kids, a voracious reader, and a self-described bookaholic (isn’t that what you’d call someone who has 16 full-size bookshelves in their 1700 square foot house?).

We’ve homeschooled for three years, and I’ve always enjoyed thinking a little “outside the box” when it comes to curriculum. Homeschoolers have such an excellent opportunity to teach their children real-world skills—beyond just the basics of reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmetic—hence the birth of this blog: Homeschooling for the Real World.

This blog actually serves two purposes. First, I hope it will be a useful resource for other homeschoolers who strive to teach their children real-world skills. And second, by writing posts about the various skills, I am organizing my thoughts with regard to skills that I have not yet taught my own kids.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you find something that can benefit your homeschool. And if you have time, you might also like to stop by my other blog, Five Js.
